Johnny Simmons, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | LMFT108461
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s most challenging seasons. As an African American male therapist, I bring a culturally attuned and trauma-informed approach to the work I do, creating a space where clients feel seen, safe, and empowered.
My clinical foundation is rooted in evidence-based practices, with specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a powerful model for helping couples and individuals build stronger, more secure relationships. I am also in the process of becoming certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and expect to complete certification by the end of 2025. My work is deeply informed by trauma theory and attachment science, which allows me to support clients navigating a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties.
Beyond the therapy room, I am honored to serve as the President of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Fresno Chapter. I also sit on the board for the Northern California Community of Emotionally Focused Therapists, where I contribute to advancing excellence and diversity within the field.
Whether you’re working through trauma, relationship challenges, or navigating major life transitions, my goal is to walk alongside you with compassion, clarity, and clinical expertise. I believe healing happens in connection—and that everyone deserves to experience meaningful, lasting change.

I see clients in person at my office located at 5084 N Fruit Ave, Suite 105, Fresno, CA 93711.
