Karen Schneller, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist |  LMFT49207

I’m Karen Schneller, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), EMDR trained clinician, and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) practicing in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, California, as well as online throughout California, Texas, and Ohio.

My work centers on helping women break free from diet culture, body shame, and the internalized beliefs that keep them small. When you find freedom with food and your body, your life expands—your world becomes bigger, richer, and more fully yours.
Over time, I began to see how often struggles with food and body were connected to deeper emotional wounds and unresolved trauma. That understanding naturally led me to EMDR, which became a profound turning point in both my personal healing and my professional path. EMDR allowed me to access and process emotional layers I didn’t realize were still shaping my life, and it opened a door to a kind of transformation that felt more integrated, embodied, and lasting. That experience reshaped my entire therapeutic approach.

Today, EMDR is at the heart of my work because it creates real, sustainable change. It helps clients release trauma stored in the body, shift long held patterns, and reconnect with a sense of inner steadiness. Clients often describe EMDR as the moment things finally “click”—when insight becomes integration, and healing becomes something they can feel rather than just understand.

Whether you’re navigating trauma, painful relationships, or an eating disorder, I offer a compassionate, attuned, and safe space to process what has felt too overwhelming to hold alone. I meet you exactly where you are, and together we build the capacity for nervous system safety, embodied wisdom, and the freedom to live more fully and authentically.

For payment I take Cash Pay, Out of Network, TRICARE, and Lyra-EAP.
